| For customers with Canadian Import cargo onboard the M/V MSC Alyssa Voy. 27a and MSC Aniello 251W28 | 21/07/2010 |
Effective at 0800 hours Monday 19th of July, a state of lock-out exists in the Port of Montreal in connection with the stalled negotiations between the Maritime Employers Association and the Longshoremen’s Union, CUPE, Local 375. The above vessels were due to arrive in Montreal between July 19 & July 22, but will instead proceed to Halifax, N.S. to conduct the discharging. We regret having to advise you that given this unforeseen turn of events, we are forced to declare end of voyage for all containers originally destined for Port of Discharge Montreal. Any and all additional costs for the on-carriage of containers from Halifax to Montreal will be for the account of the cargo. Customers who wish to claim their container(s) in Halifax are hereby instructed to immediately contact our Import Customer Service Dept. at MSC Montreal. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by this situation beyond our control. Further information about the subject can be obtained from your local MSC Agency Office
